WHAT IS KYOKUSHIN-KAI KARATE?

Kyokushin Kai is a style of Karate, widely respected and a household name in Japan. It was developed by Sosai (Founder) Masutatsu OYAMA (Pictured below in seated meditation). It is heavily in accordance with Samurai traditions and the budo ideal. It's translation to English is;

"The Style (Society) of the Ultimate Truth."

The philosophy of Kyokushin Karate is based on respect:

  • Respect for the individual regardless of race, religion or sex.
  • Respect for your ability. Use it only for peace and protection.
  • Respect for your instructor.
  • Respect for other students, your family and those you have contact with.
We only teach those that can follow this "WAY". When they have achieved all of the above you will learn that the world has no need for violence. The Karate-Ka walks in peace and Karate is used only as means of self defence and a way to achieve peace.
